AEROSTRIP Diffusers

The AEROSTRIP ® diffuser has been designed as a fine bubble diffuser device with very low energy demand, which may be safely employed for domestic and industrial sewage treatment worldwide.


The materials used for AEROSTRIP ® diffusers are resistant against all components which are permitted to be fed to a sewage treatment plant in accordance to German ATV-regulations (ATV A115 Anlage 1).

Operation behaviour of AEROSTRIP ® diffusers in waste water

The excellent figures of AEROSTRIP ® diffusers are not achieved in clean water tests only, but also in practical operation with sewage. Tests showed a considerable alpha-value of ~0.8.

The figure of employed energy for BOD5-removal would have more relevance from practical point of view. Heavy loaded plants equipped with AEROSTRIP ® are employing less than 0.3 kWh for the treatment of one kg BOD5, which may peak to an excellent 0.5 to 0.7 kWh per kg BOD in plants using extended aeration.

Product range AEROSTRIP ® - Single diffuser

AEROSTRIP ® diffusers are available in two material: PVC and Stainless steel.

For a sewage temperature >30°C we recommend to use AEROSTRIP ® diffuser type T.
For the moment we advise against using AEROSTRIP ® made of PVC for water temperatures >30°C.

for the AEROSTRIP TYPE Q

Both types of diffuser have the same efficiency. Minor deviations concerning oxygen yield result from higher diffuser thickness (5cm) for the PVC type.

For a sewage temperature >30°C we recommend to use AEROSTRIP ® diffuser type T.
For the moment we advise against using AEROSTRIP ® made of PVC for water temperatures >30°C.

For Fastening of diffusers you may choose between

  • Fixation directly to the tank floor
  • height adjustable fixation (e.g. if tank floor is sloped)
  • Fixation to a substructure (e.g. made of stainless steel)

For Air supply (Connection to main air pipe) you may choose between

  • Groups of max. 4 diffusers (recommended)
  • Groups of >4 diffusers using distribution pipes >DA63
  • separate per diffuser using a PE pipe DA32
